Fluted Shades

These are the current versions of the Fluted Shades.
  • The example on the left shows the original color wrap, where the colors are added by wrapping them like soft taffy around the main piece of glass over a solid opaque layer of color.  Applying the color this way creates a sweeping, blending movement of color, augmented by the opaque background color.
  • The center photo shows our more recent color wrap v2.0.  The main colors are still applied as a wrap, but the solid opaque background color is eliminated.  It sounds like a minor change, but it results in some interesting differences.
  • Lastly, on the right is a shade with the color swirl.  The colors are applied directly to the piece as small pieces of frit (the form that glass color comes in), which creates a quite different appearance.
